Spending time on the road, or at home during our many sub-IFR days I've created a list of favorite aviation podcasts. Here's my list:
- Opposing Bases - The hosts “Alpha Golf” and “Romeo Hotel” are both air traffic controllers and rated pilots. They are funny, insightful and offer a real world look into the "NAS" (National Airspace System). Sometimes a bit slow to start and interspersed with laughter and inside (to their community) jokes it takes a bit to get to the meat of the podcast, but it's always there and I've learned something from every session.
- Pilot to Pilot - Host Justin Seims is a corporate pilot who chronicles his journey to professional aviation as well as talking to a host of other pilots about how they came to be professional pilots. Part 141 vs 61? Corporate, agricultural, Military or airlines as a career? He talks to them all about their choices and their individual journeys. If you're on the path to a career in aviation you'll learn a lot through this podcast.
- Flight Suit Friday - Of particular interest to those who follow Coast Guard Aviation. Get insight to the training and missions of Coast Guard aircrews. Great stories about what would be to most people the story of a lifetime but to Coast Guard Aviators are just another day.
What are yours? Let us know so we can share them!
