Bill Julian Scholarship Fund Donation Request

As we approach the years end, we invite you to be part of something truly transformative!

Our chapter has successfully supported three Ray scholars in pursuit of their dreams to become pilots. These scholarships have been funded by the Ray Foundation through the EAA's program.

This year our chapter leadership has established the Bill Julian Scholarship Fund in honor of former member Bill Julian who was a founder of and prime mover of our chapter's Young Eagles program. This scholarship fund will have three scholarships to be offered to youth from the Grand Traverse region with an interest in aviation.

• The Ray Scholarship, an annual award of up to $11,000 to earn your private pilot certificate.
• EAA Air Academy Basic Camp, a weeklong summer camp experience at EAA in Oshkosh, valued at $1,300 (available in 2025)
• $500 A&P training scholarship for students attending the FAA approved Legacy Aviation airframe and powerplant mechanic course.

EAA will provide the matching funds for the Ray Scholarship program on a 3 to 1 basis (i.e. if we put up 25% of the cost, they will fund the remaining portion). Our challenge is to provide the resources to fund these opportunities for the youth in our community. Your support can enable our community's youth to follow their aspirations in the field of aviation.
